If you ever wanted a Lego Technic toy made to look like a John Deere 9700 Self-Propelled Forage Harvester (SPFH), the time is now.
Debuting globally in January, the SPFH joins two other Deere products previously featured by Lego: the 9000 Series Tractor (2022) and the 948L-II Skidder (2023).
The Technic toy line appeals to an engineering crowd — both young and old — and has a history of engaging other manufacturers such as automakers and even NASA. The inclusion of John Deere into this mix is a tribute to Deere’s innovative mindset.
Brooke Schmidt, global licensing category manager, said the Lego Technic engineering team was interested in the 9700 SPFH because of the size and scale of the machine, and “our SPFH marketing and engineering team chose the 9700 for its global appeal in our forage harvester line up.”
The SPFH Lego set can be purchased through all major retailers and will be available through John Deere dealers and the John Deere Store in February.
